Studying philosophy, biology, and astronomy has shaped my thinking about the intricate relationships between molecules, organisms, and minds. Their interconnectedness across length scales is absolutely undeniable and deserves more attention; in my experience, deeper understanding of the universe through science brings with it a strong and unique spirituality.
Thus, my photography began a few years ago as a means of better acquainting
myself with the complexity and beauty of the small-scale biological
world. By treating mushroom clusters like family portraits, for
example, I attempt to bring out a more personal element from my
subjects. Moving to the city (Boston) has encouraged my style to evolve into a
more general exploration of the various components of aesthetics and
imagery.
